The well preserved Great Hall of Winchester Castle, housing the famous “Round Table” has long drawn throngs of visitors. Now it is possible to explore more of the castle as the exposed remains have been put on display, including the castle’s cellars and passageways. Or discover over a thousand years of history at Winchester Cathedral with its seventeenth-century Morley Library, the Winchester Bible and a Norman crypt. The statue of King Alfred is a reminder of the vast historic significance of this pleasant Hampshire town, at one time the capital of England.
We will be leaving Evesham from our pick-up point at the Chadbury Farm Shop, where there will be parking for visitors cars behind the shop, at 09.00 a.m on June 22nd and we expect to be back in Evesham at 6.00 p.m. The cost will be £20.00 a head. This does not include admission charges to the various attractions in Winchester, but it does include an introductory lecture on the coach!
