"The Lion" magazine, which we publish three times a year, contains
articles on Churches and battle sites, music, cookery and the culture of
the thirteenth century, topics of interest to social and political
historians plus details of all the Society's meeting dates and events.
Even if you cannot get to all of our meetings, walks and talks we have
been reliably informed that "The Lion" magazine is worth the annual
subscription on its own!
"This Lion's Cubs" (below) provides
access to a selection of articles from back issues of "The Lion". The
articles are reproduced her with the permission of their authors and
copyright remains with them or with The Simon de Montfort Society. Click
on a link and you will be taken to that article
which you can read or download (for reasonable personal use). |

in 1179...
