The Almonry Heritage Centre has a "Simon de Montfort Room" dedicated by the Speaker of the House of Commons in 1965 as part of the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of earl Simon's death at the Battle of Evesham.  The room concentrates more on the final months of earl Simon's life, and on his death, than the earlier years.  It is currently (2005) undergoing an extension renovation and includes new exhibits including an axe head of the period recovered from the river silt at Dead Man's Ait.
