The town of Kenilworth grew up around one of the kingdom’s most powerful castles whose remains remind us of the physical and psychological impact of these strongholds. This year’s trip will introduce us the Kenilworth Abbey, in addition to the castle. We will see the latest archaeology at both sites, trace the site of the siege of 1266 and try to make sense of the accounts of Lord Edward’s raid, a few days before the battle of Evesham. We will be joined by the Battlefields Trust and the Kenilworth Historical and Archaeological Society.
Nearer the time, you will be informed of the price, itinerary and details of where to meet to board the coach.
